Paul Esslinger, Contradicting Himself in 24 Hours or Less...

As I have discussed before, Oshkosh City Councilor and (repeatedly failed) Mayoral Candidate Paul Esslinger is very inconsistent in his personal beliefs.

Some may call it opportunism, others flip-flopping or perhaps out-right dishonesty.

Another blatant example of the (non-) rock-solid beliefs of Mr. Esslinger was on public display this week, when in a letter to the editor in Tuesday's Northwestern he lamented the loss of good manufacturing jobs in Oshkosh.

This was followed up by his parade appearance Wednesday morning.

Riding in the back of a Toyota...

Good call, Jef.

Paul Esslinger contradicts himself repeatedly. Another example is his ordering in of sidewalks on River Mill Road in the name of safety but he is unwilling to remove the Chamber building to clean up that intersection which would improve safety.

Paul Esslinger flip-flops on issues worse than a fish out of water.

I'm not sure, but I think Toyota manufactures vehicles in the good ol' USA.

A typical Esslingeresque response. Deflect rather than address the real issue of his hypocrisy. Might it be because there is no explanation? Methinks so.

Actually Jef...

He was riding in a PONTIAC G6 provided by Bergstrom Automotive.

Last time I checked, Pontiac is made right here in the United States by UAW workers... maybe you should brush up on some of your recognition skills. You can't tell a Toyota from a Pontiac.

Anymore boneheaded remarks or perhaps an apology???

Yeah. Right.

K. Monte

Jef:

I'm sure your union brethren would not be happy with you not being able to know what type of vehicles they make! Shame on you!

Oh, and by the way, he wasn't riding in the back, he was driving!

If you were at the parade, you had better get those thick glasses of yours a little thicker, or give the person that gave you the false information a spanking.

Are you embarassed yet Jef? Well, I guess if your going to show that your a fool, it's best to do it on your own blog.

Maybe Mr. Hall had is beer goggles on again. You know, the ones he wears when his blood/alcohol level gets to .40 and when he breaks into womans' homes and sleeps on their couches because he either cant find his home or doesn't know where it is.

Jef Hall said...

I stand corrected if he was in a Pontiac, I saw Esslinger and Becker standing around a Toyota convertible, festooned with his signs.

I saw no Pontiac.

As I was in the parade, I only saw setup.

Why was he in a Bergstom car? Wasn't the rest of the council in their own cars?

Why would he need to take a car from Bergstom?

Jef. If you saw "set up" then you saw Paul and Dan putting signs on a car, a PONTIAC.

Can't you just admit your wrong, again.

Once again Kent Monte has to jump into the fray to defend his buddy. On top of it all he shows what a rude asshole he is in his parting shot, closing comment. What a Christian-like thing to do. His priest must be proud. He just doesn't know when to stop (or better yet, keep his mouth shut).

As for 11:01PM, there's no period after Jef's name. It should be a comma, if anything. And it's *you're* not *your.* Didn't they teach you about contractions in school?

Same thing for you 5:35PM, *women's,* not *womans'* and *can't,* not *cant.*

Are you *both* too drunk to type properly or just naturally dumb?

Anonymous said...

6:31. So sorry to upset you. Just admit, like Jef had to, that he was WRONG, AND LOOKS FOOLISH!

Anonymous said...

No more foolish than you.

Jef. If you can't report on minor things, how can we trust you as an elected official?

Mr. Hall. You said Mr. Esslinger was in a Toyota. Was Mr. Esslinger in a Toyota or Pontiac? You said he was in the back seat. Was he driving or was he in the back seat?

Jef. Your credibility is shot!

I wonder what Jef owns that wasn't made in the USA or Wisconsin. Was HIS car made in the USA, or better yet Wisconsin? Does he own a TV that was made in Japan? We know he drinks beer, does he drink beer made in the USA or does he drink imports?

Anonymous said...

Actually Jef doesn't drink at all anymore and hasn't for 2 years. You might want to get your OWN facts straight. Until then we can't trust you to speak factually either, can we?

All you've done is ask questions. Here's a question about Paul Esslinger. When will he get a real job and stop playing at politics? Until then he ought to focus on keeping his stories straight too. He's nothing but a hypocrite. I find that very troubling.

11:24, you should get YOUR facts straight. Paul has had a job for some time now. And if you believe that Jef doesn't drink alcohol, you're probably as intoxicated as he is!

Anonymous said...

Playing cribbage in a bar isn't considered having a job?

Kent Monte has a good thread on this. Let's get off this lame site and go to Kent's.

Kent Monte? Who's that? Oh yeah, he's that mouthpiece for Paul Esslinger, speaking everywhere for his pal. Here, on the ONW's forums, you name it. Give us a break Kent. You can't even speak for yourself without sticking your foot in your mouth and screwing something up. You have been disproven time and time again. Maybe we should ask the ONW to conduct a public opinion poll on you.

Paul Esslinger contradicts himself about safety too. Says he's concerned about safety and that's why River Mill Rd needed sidewalks right now. He thinks people can now safely walk to the nature trail. Certainly not without taking one's life into their own hands crossing Congress. Thanks Safety Patrol Paul, for your concern. What a great job you've done.

Since there's never been one single person who has expressed or had problems getting to the trail off River Mill, but there have been plenty of problems getting to the trail when having to cross Congress, maybe you'd like to come over and serve as Safety Patrol in that area. The pay's not the best, but compared to nothing it'll help put a little bread on your table and tacos in your gut.

Jef, please reassure us that you don't own any foreign products. The union guys and gals need to be reassured.

We're waiting.

Paul, please vote to buy the chamber building so the streets can be realigned and bring forward other resolutions ordering in sidewalks in all other sections of town where there are none. The citizens of Oshkkosh need to be reassured you truly do take safety seriously and that you care about all citizens, not just those you have a peculiar interest in.

We're waiting.

There goes Kent "Mouthpiece" Monte again defending his pal Paul Esslinger. What a pair these 2 make. He has offered explanations of why he's allowed commentary about Jef Hall supposedly drinking? He says he heard from someone who saw Jef at a function that he had a beer in his hand. I wonder if his source knows the difference between real beer and near-beer? Hmm...

He also explained Esslinger's driving a Bergstrom vehicle in the 4th of July parade. It's fascinating that Paul Esslinger would go near a Bergstrom vehicle, much less drive one in a public parade since he's sued Bergstrom in the past and would otherwise have nothing to do with them. It's on CCAP. More hypocrisy from Paul Esslinger and more half-truths from Kent "Mouthpiece" Monte.

Yet another Esslinger contradiction to add to your archives, Jef...

Only a few weeks after arguing and voting for sidewalks on River Mill Road in the name of safety, Esslinger opposed doing a roundabout at the intersection of Murdock and Jackson, which according to city staff ranks in the top 10 and possibly the top 5 intersections for the most accidents each year.

Pandering Politician Paul Esslinger is a chameleon, to be sure. He changes colors on a regular basis, depending on how much voter support and media attention he can get.

Someone said they wanted to know if the source that saw Jef with a beer knows the difference between real beer and near-beer.

My question is if Jef would know the difference between real beer and near-beer? If he doesn't know the difference between a Pontiac and a Toyota, I don't think he would know the difference!

Anonymous said...

Hmm, council meeting's over and suddenly a comment. Hypocrite Paul is that you?

Anonymous said...

Judging by Paul Esslinger's recent votes, it's crystal clear he doesn't know the difference between real safety issues, particularly ones that he's seen documented proof of, and imaginary ones.

Anonymous said...

Jef. Us union folk want to know if you have purchased any foreign goods? And are you getting drunk on foreign beer or imports.

We're waiting.

Here are some recent posts that Paul Esslinger is too much of a chicken too answer. I suppose the reason is becuase he has no answer.

Another item to add to the Paul Esslinger Hypocrisy File:

With cancer having run rampant through his family, Paul Esslinger talked a good game to the ONW about his situation and sat at a council meeting in June telling us what a great experience it was for him to serve as honorary spokesman for the Cancer Society's Relay for Life. Now he's proposing something that weakens the smoking ban in Oshkosh. What????????? I guess his thought process got short circuited from the second hand smoke at his election night party at Kodiak Jacks.
