Conservatives are Happier...

It's all here:

Individuals with conservative ideologies are happier than liberal-leaners, and new research pinpoints the reason: Conservatives rationalize social and economic inequalities.

Regardless of marital status, income or church attendance, right-wing individuals reported greater life satisfaction and well-being than left-wingers, the new study found. Conservatives also scored highest on measures of rationalization, which gauge a person's tendency to justify, or explain away, inequalities.

The rationalization measure included statements such as: "It is not really that big a problem if some people have more of a chance in life than others," and "This country would be better off if we worried less about how equal people are."

I'd have to say that conservatives are happier due to the fact that we define the world around us from a logical perspective, and base our worldviews upon logic.

On the reverse, we have liberals, who base their worldviews upon emotion and feelings. Because of this, they are obviously subject to their emotions, which would therefore give them a greater emotional experience - which could be related to overall happiness.

This is not to say that conservatives are robots or that they do not feel happiness. We are just content in making decisions that are better for the whole, rather than getting caught up in emotions of those that might be excluded in those decisions.

Conservative Example: Illegal immigration has a overall negative effect on the country; therefore I agree with tougher laws on illegals, businesses that employ them, and a deportation of all unregistered aliens.

Liberal Example: Jose is such a nice guy, he makes such great tacos and has a beautiful daughter. What a shame it would be to have him deported. That Sensenbrenner is a Nazi! Who cares if Jose is illegal, he deserves a chance.

Nuff said.
